Fearon Update - Home Coming is just over a week away

All looks good for a return against Surrey Park on 20/5/17. Sure to be an eventful day.

To help celebrate we are planning to roll out some tunes in the club rooms from 7.30pm. Casual evening with food available and drinks at bar prices. Our resident DJ, Mr Joel Williams will get the playlist sorted for a fun, relaxed evening.

We look forward to seeing all the parents along.

Meet The Parents Night

This year we have lots of new kids and therefore new parents to the club. To date we have not been able to train at the Fearon, so catching up has been difficult. Now we are back on the fields, the committee would like to invite the parents along for a catch up while the kids are out training.
We can go through any queries, TeamApp, rules, what ever questions you have. Hoping to see as many along as possible. Oh yeah, the bar will be open.

WLC - Ladies Day

Following the success of our Ladies Day a few years back we feel we are well overdue for another get together.
This time around we will be supporting the Cancer Council as part of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.‎
It also gives the Ladies behind the men of our club a chance to come together, network and enjoy some time away from the sidelines (and the kids).

Date: Saturday June 3rd
Start time: 10.30
More details to follow very shortly!

Help Needed

The club does not run itself. It requires the generous support of a number of volunteers. Often too few are left to do too much. Assistance is required in many areas of the club. The committee is always looking for fresh faces and ideas. Janine would love some help in the kitchen. Please offer assistance if you can. Each team ( Junior and Senior) needs scorers, Team Managers, First Aiders etc. It doesn't matter if you can't commit all the time, it is possible to share the work load with others. It may seem that there are enough people around the place, but we can always use more. Talk to one of the friendly coaches or committee members if you are interested in supporting this great club.

Referees

This year we are required to supply an accredited referee for all Junior & Senior games. Failure to do so will result in TWO premiership points being deducted from the team. Click here to view a list of accredited refs.

It has always been expected that Senior players make themselves available during the season to assist in officiating our games. Accredited Referees are paid by LV and by the club.

Accreditation is easy. The process has been streamlined to an On line program, where all you need to do is score 60%. All Senior players are asked to ensure they are accredited so that if they are called upon to ref a game we will not lose premiership points.

Junior Development Update

Hi all,
This year has started off with a bang for the club's junior development. We have already conducted numerous clinics with The Sandridge School located on Nelson Place, bringing lacrosse to 150 kids from grades Prep all the way through to 5/6. We have also held after-school clinics with local schools, and made an appearance at the Williamstown North Primary School fete in March, which was a great success, it saw over 50 kids come and try out Lacrosse in the hour we had allocated.
As a result of getting out into the community early in the year and showcasing Lacrosse, the club has seen a great influx in new juniors, allowing us to field a THIRD U11's team for the first time in a number of years. There has also been a boost to our U13 and U15 age groups, with both fielding close to 20 players per side.
On behalf of the club I would like to thank the 100 Club members for their ongoing support of Williamstown Lacrosse Club, the donations and sponsorship, allows the club to be able to pay coaches to coach clinics with local schools, run events in the community, and  purchase equipment that is vital for the development of young players.

Regards,
Sean Clarke
